Before your beauty service
Microblading/Nanoblading
Before undergoing a microblading service, it's important to follow specific guidelines to ensure the best possible results and to minimize any risks.
Here is a list of general pre-care instructions:
Avoid alcohol and caffeine: For at least 24 hours before your appointment, avoid consuming alcohol, caffeine, and energy drinks, as they can increase bleeding and sensitivity during the procedure.
Avoid use of blood thinners: Refrain from taking aspirin, ibuprofen, or other blood-thinning medications for at least 48 hours before your appointment, unless they are prescribed by a doctor.
Skip skincare treatments: Avoid any kind of facial treatments like peels, microdermabrasion, or facials for at least 2 weeks prior. Also, avoid using retinoids, AHA, BHA, and exfoliating agents on the brow area for at least a week before your procedure.
No tanning or sunbathing: Stay out of the sun and avoid tanning for at least a week before your appointment to prevent sunburn on your face.
Avoid waxing and tweezing: Do not wax, tweeze, or perform any type of hair removal in the brow area at least a week before the procedure.
Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water leading up to your appointment, as hydrated skin can handle the procedure better and aid in the healing process.
Consultation regarding medications and health conditions: If you have specific health conditions or are on certain medications, it's crucial to discuss these with your beauty artist during your consultation.
No alcohol or caffeine on the day of the procedure: On the day of your appointment, avoid alcohol and caffeine entirely.
Lip blushing

Take precaution: If you are prone to cold sores, please be sure to take anti-viral medication 48 hours prior to your procedure to prevent outbreaks. (please call if further information/clarification needed)
Exfoliate: For best results exfoliate your lips gently for 3 days prior to your procedure; gentle circular motion with soft towel or a gentle sugar scrub will do just fine.
Keep lips moisturized: Use vaseline or other moisturizing products on lips for at least 3-4 days prior to service.
Avoid use of blood thinners, 48 hrs prior to service.
Avoid alcohol and caffeine: Do not consume alcohol 24 hours prior to your procedure and no caffeine on the day of the procedure.
Avoid waxing and tweezing: No waxing or plucking upper lip for 48 hours prior.
Skip skincare treatments: No retinol or retinoids around lips for at least one week prior.
After care
Microblading/Nanoblading
Aftercare is crucial for the healing and longevity of your beauty service. Here are general aftercare instructions to follow:
Keep the area clean and dry: For the first 7-10 days, keep the area as dry as possible. Avoid getting your face/lips wet during showers and when washing your face.
Avoid touching or scratching: Do not touch, scratch, rub, or pick at the healing area. Your skin will be itchy as it heals, but it's important to let any scabs naturally fall off to prevent scarring and pigment loss.
Apply aftercare ointment: If provided by your technician, apply the recommended aftercare ointment according to their instructions. This is usually done with a clean cotton swab, not your fingertips.
No makeup or skincare products: Avoid applying makeup, creams, serums, or other skincare products directly on the brows/lips for at least two weeks.
Avoid sun exposure: Keep your brows/lips protected from direct sun exposure. After they have healed, use sunscreen to prevent fading of the pigment.
Skip the sweat session: Avoid heavy sweating, intense exercise, saunas, and steam rooms for at least 10 days after the procedure.
Avoid swimming: Avoid swimming pools, hot tubs, and any other bodies of water until your brows have fully healed.
Refrain from facial treatments: Avoid facials, chemical treatments, and Botox until the area is completely healed.
Sleeping carefully: Try to sleep on your back to avoid rubbing your brows on pillows.
Follow-up appointment: Attend your follow-up appointment, typically scheduled 4-6 weeks after the initial session, for any necessary touch-ups.
Lip Blushing
Day 1
Your lips will be swollen and bright.
Do not touch your lips with uncleaned fingers, to avoid germs on healing lips
Avoid touching lips to any surfaces; if possible sleep on back
Keep lips moisturized, Vaseline preferred but any moisturizing agent will suffice.
Day 2-5
Swelling will subside and your lips color will appear darker than on day of service; this is perfectly normal!
Lips will start to peel, with the peeling process completing around the 5th day; some peel minimally or not at all!
Do not touch your lips with uncleaned fingers
Avoid touching your lips to your pillow or other surfaces.
No lipstick or other make-up in the area
Do not use any harsh chemicals like cleansers or creams to the treated areas.
Do not use any harsh chemicals like cleansers or creams to the treated areas.
Avoid sun exposure or any UV lighting device (ie tanning beds)
Do not allow sweat to drip on lips until scabs have fully fallen off
Do not get any additional services/treatments in the area for up to 1 month (services to avoid include, filler, chemical treatment, botox)
Avoid eating spicy or acidic foods while your lips are healing.
Use a straw when drinking.
Continue to moisturize lips with vaseline and ensure you are only touching lips with clean hands (wash hands prior!)

What to expect
Microblading/Nanoblading
Before the procedure

Preparation: As per the pre-care instructions, you should avoid certain substances and activities to prepare your skin for the procedure.
During the procedure
Numbing: The technician will usually apply a topical numbing cream to minimize discomfort.
Outlining the Shape: Your brows will be measured and outlined to create the desired shape.
Pigment Application: Using a microblading tool, the technician will make fine, hair-like strokes, depositing pigment into the upper layers of the skin.
Duration: The entire process can take around 2-3 hours.
After the procedure
Immediate Appearance: Your brows may appear darker and more defined immediately after the procedure. This intensity will fade over the next couple of weeks.
Healing Process: Complete healing usually takes about 4-6 weeks. During this time, you may experience itching, flaking, and a slight fading of the pigment.
Aftercare: Follow the aftercare instructions closely to ensure proper healing and pigment retention.
Touch-Up Appointment: A follow-up appointment is typically needed 4-6 weeks after the initial session to make any adjustments to the shape or color.
Long-term expectations
Duration of Results: Microblading results can last anywhere from 1 to 3 years, depending on skin type, lifestyle, and how well you follow aftercare instructions.
Fading Over Time: The strokes will gradually fade and blur over time, requiring a touch-up session to refresh the color and shape.
Considerations
Pain and Discomfort: While numbing cream is used, some discomfort or a sensation similar to scratching is possible.
Choosing the Right Technician: Ensure that your technician is certified and experienced. Review their portfolio and read client testimonials.
